I was at that show. It was the day after the Blizzard of '93 canceled the show the previous night, not the setlist I would have hoped for. Although yes, the Stella was excellent, and I actually liked the jam on Eternity. I never mind a Terrapin.

That doesn't sound so bad to me except that the second set kind of deteriorates.

Aside from Way To Go home and Corrina, I could live with that set list. I'm probably the only one though! :)

No, that's what I was thinking. (I never knew they did the "Fought the Law.")

Yes indeed they did. Most folks aren't crazy about their cover of IFTL. I saw it once, and it totally came out of nowhere(for me anyway), so I was into it. In retrospect, I think it is one of those tunes that is fun "in the moment", but doesn't hold up well on tape!

Ok then. I’ll come out with it – I like Broken Arrow an awful lot, and feel that Robbie did a fine job composing and recording it. There is much to reflect upon within the lyric, if one is of such a mind.

While many of the songs played in my linked show are under contention in this thread, my intention here was to point out a fine version of Phil singing this song, with beautiful work by Jerry also. I even like Rod Stewart’s version which I think most people are familiar with from the radio.

Now I wasn’t going to do this, as it may earn me a citation from TOOTMO, but my nightmare imaginary set would be one where Jerry was completely unable to sing that night:

Victim or the Crime
Minglewood
Little Red Rooster
Mexicali Blues
Picasso Moon
Easy Answers
Eternity
Samba in the Rain
Way To Go Home
E: Money Money

:) sorry ring. I do appreciate Bobby on many levels...

I like Mexicali and Minglewood, but don't need those others. I don't think I really have a "nightmare" GD set, maybe a few disappointing ones, and LLR can certainly turn things sour.

Lucy in the Sky, LOL, no, that is really not why one goes to a Grateful Dead concert.

"Goes" present tense, listen, I am losing it.

Well if your going to lose it,. here's not a bad place ....

Acoustically it's iffy at best, electronically it's a set downer, wet blanket BR break song. The only one live I heard that picked up my ears was,

I don't get why everyone hates Corrina so much. The dead sung it really poorly but at its heart I find it pretty interesting.

I tend to agree with you on some level. It's funky and had a nice hook. For me it was way over played and for some reason they got lazy with it. They should have tried different segues and song combos with it aside from UJB 90% of the time. Corrina>Eyes or Corrina>china doll. There are some nice long versions that jam into drums that really work.

This whole thread is turning my stomach. Many fine choices for worst Dead songs listed.

I'm giving people the benefit of the doubt - some of the "old standards" (MAMU, SugarMags, Truckin etc) must have been hard to hear for the 100th time, especially the desultory way they were played in the "latter era."
